HELP MUSICIANS UK

HMUK is Britain’s leading independent music charity. Since 1921, the charity has provided help, support and opportunities to empower musicians at all stages of their lives. HMUK’s mission is to create a sustainable future for all musicians within the industry, and to work in partnership to transform the music industry through advocacy, campaigning, programmes and targeted investment for all those within it.

MUSIC MINDS MATTER

The #MusicMindsMatter campaign was announced in July 2017. It is HMUK’s campaign to launch a mental health support line and service for those working in music.

During 2016, HMUK experienced a 22% increase in requests for help from musicians across the UK, and in total, the charity spent £1.9 million helping these musicians through direct and indirect financial support.

With just under £1 million committed by HMUK over the next four years, the charity is calling for ‘arm in arm’ support from the industry and philanthropists.

Once successfully implemented in the UK, the charity has ambitions to roll out the service with global partners in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
